Polunsky Beitel Green LLP, the nation’s largest transactional residential mortgage lending law firm, today announced the promotion of Peter Idziak to principal. Idziak has been with the firm for nearly seven years, strengthening its practice and profile at the intersection of mortgage compliance and regulatory counsel, and contributing to the development of the next generation of the firm’s attorneys.
“Peter has been an invaluable member of our firm — deepening client relationships, strengthening our team of associate attorneys, and establishing himself as a recognizable voice on compliance and regulatory issues,” said Allan Polunsky, managing partner and founder of Polunsky Beitel Green. “This promotion recognizes everything he has contributed to the firm and signals where PBG is headed. As we celebrate 50 years, we are not just looking back at what we have built. We are investing in the people who will carry this firm forward.”
Idziak has represented clients in all areas of residential mortgage lending for more than a decade, with a particular focus on regulatory compliance and consumer financial law. Lenders across the country regularly turn to him for guidance on complex matters spanning the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act. He also advises clients on Veterans Administration, Federal Housing Administration, and Government-Sponsored Enterprise requirements. Idziak’s depth of knowledge has made him a reliable source for trade media, and he is regularly quoted in mortgage industry publications on regulatory developments and compliance trends.
As PBG’s senior associate, Idziak oversaw the training and supervision of the firm’s associate attorneys, shaping how the next generation of lawyers approaches the firm’s work and its clients. As principal, he will continue in that role while taking on greater responsibility across the firm’s legal and client work.
“Allan, along with Jay Beitel and Marty Green, has built something genuinely special here, and I am grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to be part of it,” said Idziak. “The mortgage industry is going through a real period of change, especially as firms like ours embrace AI and new technology, and I look forward to continuing to help our clients navigate what comes next.”
Idziak earned his law degree with honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he served as a member of the Texas International Law Journal and as a director of the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas and Energy Law. He is also an honors graduate in government from Harvard University.
