It’s Day 2 of The Mortgage Bankers Association’s annual convention in Philadelphia, and Marty Green continues to share his daily insights from the industry’s premier event.
“It’s Tuesday morning and folks are still buzzing about Maroon 5 from last night.”
“Survive to 25” is a mantra we have heard a good bit today, particularly from Professor Susan Wachter, real estate and finance professor at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Hopefully, we will see some interest rate relief before then, but if rates are indeed higher for longer, it may be 2025 before the market normalizes fully.”
“Stan Middleman, CEO of Freedom Mortgage Corporation, delivered a very personal message about his hometown of Philadelphia, talking with local leaders about homelessness and other challenges Philadelphia is facing, and how they are addressing them. These are tough challenges that could affect any major city in America. Stan and his guests offered some creative examples for how we might be able to solve them in Philly and beyond.”
“It has been fun watching Laura Escobar from Lennar Mortgage interview several folks yesterday and today with thoughtful and engaging questions. If the mortgage thing doesn’t work out, she could have a bright future on the talk show circuit.”
“We are on to client meetings this afternoon and look forward to seeing Tim McGraw perform this evening at Club MBA. It has been awesome catching up with so many friends, clients and colleagues at this year’s event.”
